For those that participated in the Polkadot ICO back in 2017, now it is the time to claim the Polkadot DOT tokens. Since the Polkadot network is live, there is no deadline to claim the DOTs and the claiming process will work indefinitely. However, if you don't claim the DOTs, you will not be able to stake them and receive the staking rewards.
To give a brief overview of the claim process, it starts with creation of a Polkadot wallet. Then you need to prove that you are both the owner of the Ethereum wallet used in ICO and the owner of the Polkadot wallet. Once you prove you own Ethereum wallet with ERC-20 DOT allocation tokens, the correct number of DOTs will be allocated to your address on the Polkadot blockchain.
